Education
Mydia-Tz is committed to promoting quality & inclusive education for children and youth (both with and without disabilities) in primary and secondary schools. Our approach focuses on strengthening existing educational systems to encourage increased attendance, retention and participation. We work to create and enhance positive learning environments, ensuring that schools are safe, inclusive, and conducive to learning.
To achieve this, we implement various strategies, including:
- Community Engagement: We actively engage parents, guardians, and community leaders to raise awareness about the importance of education and to foster a culture that values learning.
- Training and Workshops: We provide comprehensive training and workshops on civic education and life skills to equip young people with the knowledge and competencies they need to navigate societal challenges effectively. These workshops cover essential topics such as gender equality, civic engagement, critical thinking, leadership, communication, and conflict resolution.
- Vocational Training: For out-of-school youth, we offer vocational training programs as a practical alternative. These programs focus on equipping young people with marketable skills that can lead to income-generating opportunities. By providing access to training in various trades and crafts, we empower youth to become self-sufficient and economically independent.
- Advocacy for Educational Rights: We advocate for the rights of children, and youth (especially those with disabilities) to access quality education, emphasizing the importance of policies that promote equity and inclusivity in the education sector.
Through these initiatives, Mydia-Tz aims to ensure that every child and youth has access to quality education and the skills necessary for personal and professional growth, regardless of his/her ability. By fostering a supportive, inclusive and enriching educational environment, we are committed to nurturing future leaders who can positively impact their communities.
